As part of the launch of the new Rosebank In Your Pocket Mini-Guide, Johannesburg In Your Pocket City Guides has teamed up with The Rosebank Management District to lead a bespoke training programme for the growing neighbourhood’s new team of ‘Rosebank Ambassadors’.
The newly appointed Rosebank Ambassadors are a dedicated team of 23 cleaners and security personnel, hired by the management district, who will be the face of this popular neighbourhood to tourists and locals.
The Rosebank Management District’s creation of a new team of Rosebank Ambassadors and its partnership in the Rosebank In Your Pocket Mini-Guide, are both part of the district’s exciting rebranding campaign for the ever-expanding neighbourhood which includes a dedication to upholding and promoting Rosebank’s pedestrian-friendly environment and walkability.
The Johannesburg In Your Pocket crew hosted our first training day at the 54 on Bath boutique hotel with the new team of Ambassadors joining us for an inspiring workshop, which it is planned will be the first of many.
As passionate supporters of the local tourism industry, our training programme is designed to empower these ambassadors to engage with Rosebank visitors and connect them with the many attractions on offer, presenting the friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming face of the neighbourhood.
After a good breakfast and plenty of coffee it was on to business, starting with an introduction to service and what it means to ‘go beyond’ to make visitors feel welcome and a part of the neighbourhood, before taking a deep dive into our new Rosebank mini-guides and Rosebank’s many attractions.
Firm believers in the principle that there’s no better way to understand a neighbourhood than by walking its streets, it wouldn’t be an In Your Pocket training day without a tour of the area. After taking in some of the district’s main attractions and key tourists sights the day finished, as all good Rosebank walkabouts should, with some of Joburg’s best burgers at our favourite local burger joint BGR in Keyes Art Mile.
Look out for the Rosebank Ambassadors stationed throughout the management district and next time you’re lost or looking for somewhere to get a coffee, you know who to ask!
