NATAL SCHOOL SCHOOL ARTWORKS
For this edition of the Online Auction Strauss & Co have put together a special focus on artists from the Natal, both contemporary and historic. These include artworks from the influential Rorke’s Drift Arts and Craft Centre and fine art school, which during the apartheid era was one of the most prominent institutions in the country that helped develop the work of black South African artists.
Among the decorative arts and jewellery up for grabs in the Online Auction are a delightful collection of Scandinavian design classics, including Art Deco jewellery by Georg Jensen and Danish and Swedish modernist furniture.
