The Brother Moves On

FRI OCT 22 Cult alternative band The Brother Moves On launch a new collaborative album with Matsuli Music, titled “Tolika Mtoliki” next week and to celebrate are embarking on a nationwide tour of “kindred spaces”. The tour kicks off on Friday with a performance at the creative cafe Wolf & Co in Tsakane in the East Rand. Tickets cost from R150. Book online here.

The Linden Market

SAT OCT 23 & SUN OCT 24 Celebrating local artisanal talent, creativity, craft food and drinks, and now vintage fashion and decor too, The Linden Market is always a lively and sociable event. The spring edition kicks of this weekend at the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens in Emmarentia.

Season 8 of the Centre for the Less Good Idea

UNTIL SUN OCT 24 Taking place at Arts On Main in Maboneng, Season 8 of the Centre for the Less Good Idea presents 18 brand new live performances all centred around the theme of “Mythology, Breath and Breathing Again”. Tickets R100 per performance programme. Book online here.

Night Embassy Joburg Launch Party

SAT OCT 23 The Night Embassy is an exciting Joburg campaign that aims to reignite the city’s nightlife, appointing four creatives from the local nightlife community to bring something new to the Joburg party scene. From hundreds of applications, four ambassador collectives have been selected and The Night Embassy season launches this Saturday at The Anthill in Maboneng. SUN OCT 24 Join Joburg Heritage for a guided history walk through Joburg’s jacaranda spring visiting some of the grandest heritage properties located along Jubilee Road in Parktown, many of them promising outstanding jacaranda views.
