Job description
We are looking for a Warsaw-based native English speaker with experience in writing and editing to join In Your Pocket’s editorial team in Poland. The preferred candidate is someone who is passionate about Warsaw and engaged in what is happening locally, who has an interest in travel, history and Polish culture, and who is eager to share their knowledge and experience with tourists and travellers. Your primary job will be to edit existing content and create new texts relating not only to Warsaw, but also Łódź and Katowice. We need someone witty and creative, who exhibits a strict attention to detail, is able to work independently, manage their time efficiently and perform under deadline pressure to deliver exceptional, informative and engaging editorial in a range of formats (in print, online, blog, social media, more). You will be In Your Pocket’s expert on all things related to Warsaw, Katowice and Łódź.

Responsibilities
- Manage, edit and update existing content about Warsaw, Katowice and Łódź in print and online
- Create new features, venue descriptions and other content for those cities
- Meet regular monthly deadlines for printed content
- Provide quality photos for use in print and online
- Oversee print layout (content, design, images) and proofread for accuracy and errors
- Cooperate and coordinate work with the research team, salespeople and the Events manager
- Manage, edit, support in the creation of content for social media and blog.
- Reply to reader queries and questions about your cities
Requirements
- Immediate availability (June 5)
- Excellent writing skills in English
- Degree in Literature, Journalism, Creative Writing or related field
- Proven work experience as a writer, editor or proofreader
- Ability to work independently, multitask and meet strict deadlines
- Experience with MS Office, Google Drive, Adobe Suite or other publishing tools
- Familiarity with SEO and a range of social media platforms
