Happy 2017 and a hearty welcome to wonderful wintery Łódź (ph. pr. woodge)! Going into the new year Łódź has an incredible amount of momentum moving forward. And movement is exactly the right word. The revitalisation of the city centre is moving at light speed with the December grand opening of the glorious Łódź Fabryczna train station and the continued progress of the EC1 complex. Many of the other huge construction projects are finally coming to an end such as the total facelift of Aleja Pilsudskiego.
This urban renewal is all well and good but the bottom line is that if you are reading this, it is winter in Łódź, which can be a bit bleak. Don’t despair! The city is packed with great museums, a cutting edge culinary scene, a vibrant nightlife and it hosts some of Poland’s best concerts and events, all of which you now have at your fingertips. This season there are some truly world class modern art exhibitions. Check out the groundbreaking “The Museum of Rhythm” exhibit at MS1, which is an in depth artistic study of all things rhythmic.
