Recently dubbed as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in Europe by The Guardian, Powiśle lays between the banks of the Vistula river and the centre of Warsaw (just behind the Warsaw University). Its current rise to stardom can be attributed to the meteoric changes in the physiognomy of the city. Major developments on the riverfront have turned this once-neglected area into a hip and fashionable hub for nightlife, gastronomy and culture. The Copernicus Science Centre and the branch of the Museum of Modern Art are clear proof of this. During spring and summer, crowds flock to the Vistula Boulevards and there’s no better way to enjoy them than by bike or in a seasonal venue such as BARKA. Lots of new restaurants and cafes have mushroomed not only along the river but also through our its neighbourly streets. Here a few recommendations on what to see, do and where to eat and go out. Enjoy!
