The Hala Targowa flea market is a great activity for Sunday mornings, you will truly see the real character of Krakow, oh and the prices are incredible! See other markets here.

Grab great local, seasonal produce from many markets around Krakow, and all of Poland really.  And yes, Poles do really eat sunflower seeds directly out of the flower!

Right on the Main Market Square is a the Kino Pod Baranami movie theater, playing most movies in English with Pollish subtitles! Its our go-to place- cheap, great location, and English-language movies. What more could we ask for?

There are many villages around Krakow with their own local events, so if you know or get-to-know a local, defintely try to get yourself invited to one!

Swimming in Krakow‘s many lakes is a great activity for a warm day!  The beautiful lakes in Krakow feature more than just swimming- you can wake-board at most of them, rent boats, and have a grill.  Its the perfect day! Here we are for a sunset swim at Kryspinow, but we also enjoy Zalew Bagry, in addition to Zakrzowek below.

You’ll often find us swimming in Zakrzowek in the summer, but did you know that before it was a lake it was a limestone quarry, where Pope John Paull II worked when Poland was taken over by the Nazis!

Smok the fire-breathing Dragon guards Wawel Castle all season long! Its a can’t-miss place if you have kids with you, and definitely fun for anyone!

The famous Brama Florianska, where local artists hang their paintings and handicrafts for sale.

The Wawel Courtyard is known as one of the seved chakras in the world, but the city doesn’t enjoy this title, so they hide the spot with bulletin boards and trash cans.  Don’t worry though, you can always find it by looking for someone meditating there!

A bike ride along the Vistula River in Krakow, follow the path to see Wawel Castle and Cathedral, and even go all the way to Tyniec Abby if you want!

An evening at the Aqua Park in Krakow, where you can pay by the hour, and just take a quick-dip in the evening!

Infamous Shots and Snacks bars in Poland serve beef tartar and Mad Dog shots, a must-try when you’re in town!

Every Sunday Krakow holds a huge flea market just outside the Jewish Distrcit, Kazimierz.  Easy to get to, the Hala Targowa market is a sight-to-see even if you don’t have room in your luggage for any purchases!

Just outside the tourist town lies Las Wolski, or Wolski Woods, go for a short hike, a trip to the zoo, or a longer journey to the monostary or mound there!

Suprisingly, Krakow has many swimming spots hidden throughout the city, and also abandoned quarries! Zakrzowek is both! Take a quick-dip, or a hike for breathtaking views of the city from a distance!

A must-eat snack in Poland?  Jam, pudding, or chocolate filled donuts of course! Paczki in Polish are famous, and delicious, and served hot and fresh from this stand in Krakow!

If you have time, try to make it to a Farmer’s Market in Poland, you will be shocked by the prices on in-season fruits and vegetables, and get to meet the farmers themselves!
