Dear Readers of Warsaw in Your Pocket,

I am delighted to present you with some ideas on how to enjoy the most beautiful season of the year. The spring and early summer are an invitation to spend time in the open air and explore interesting corners of the capital of Poland. The Warsaw river embankments are an exciting addition to the city’s beautiful outdoor walking areas, with restaurants, good food and an unobtrusive atmosphere. It is also a pleasant place to ride bicycles, listen to concerts in the evening, or even get on the water itself via a cruise, ferry or canoe.

For those who enjoy live music, the Old Town Market Square will feature concerts by famous local and foreign jazzmen each Saturday evening at 19:00. Open-air recitals of Fryderyk Chopin’s music once again will take place on Sundays at 12.00 and 16.00 in Łazienki Park; for fans of this artist we also propose the intimate concerts at the Royal Castle, which take place daily at 18.00.

Also of note is the 12on14 jazz club, which enjoys a cult following and growing reputation both in Poland and internationally thanks to its passionate owners, Tomasz and Katrzyna Pierchala, and their dedication to the highest artistic standards for the club.

Fans of pop music will also find something for themselves. Florence and the Machine will perform at Orange Festival on June 2nd. Jay -Z and Beyonce will play an amazing show at the National Stadium on June 30. The Rolling Stones will also play at the National Stadium on July 8. Tickets for each are probably ‘sold out,’ but there is always a chance to get them here.

Like a phoenix from the ashes, the Museum of Miniatures has reopened at a new location (at the back of the St. Anne’s church), once again presenting splendid exhibitions of lost historical objects from pre-war Warsaw.

Find me at the concierge desk of the Marriot, where I will gladly help you plan your visit, and at the end of the day I cordially invite you to Panorama Sky Bar – which boasts the highest elevation in Warsaw – where you can enjoy exquisite drinks, music and spectacular views!
